Mark has served the AFRINIC and broader community (previous AFRINIC board & NOMCOM member, RPD member/participant, AFNOG, local training and organisational representation) in many ways and roles in the past and is still active and is vested in the betterment of the industry. AFRINIC is in is going through some interesting times at the moment and I think Mark, who understand the basics of the community up approach and has been involved from the beginning is well suited for the job. The mere fact that is he willing to put his hand up and is prepared to be involved is more than most of the community.
