AFRINIC's organisational structure facilitates a bottom-up, self governance model where policies and other organisational functions are determined by AFRINIC Members and the AFRINIC community.
The organisation is overseen by the Board of Directors, which is elected by AFRINIC members. The Board is comprised of representatives from each of Africa's six sub regions and two additional directors elected on a non regional basis. The Board is supported by the Council of Elders, which performs an advisory role (see Article16 in the AFRINIC Bylaws).
The day-to-day operations of AFRINIC are under the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and staff.
