The AfriNIC-I meeting was held on 23 – 24 May 2004 in Dakar (Senegal) at NGOR DIARAMA hotel.
This meeting was the first public policy meeting of the emerging African Internet Registry. There were about 125 participants from 30 different countries including actual LIRs, AfriNIC founding members, supporting organizations and representatives from RIRs, ICANN and various governments.
