11 May 2018 - Following the AGMM held in Dakar, Senegal, on 10 May 2018, the AFRINIC Board held a meeting to appoint a new Chair and Vice Chair.

The AFRINIC Board has appointed Dr Christian Bope as Chair, and Mr Oluwaseun Ojedeji as Vice Chair.

Elections for Board and Governance Committee seats took place at the AFRINC Annual General Members’ Meeting (AGMM) in Dakar, Senegal, on 10 May 2018.

 

The results of the Board election are as follows:

(1) Eastern Africa - Seat 6

Result: The seat is vacant

(2) Western Africa - Seat 2

  1. Dr Adelawe Abedekon - 43
  2. Dr Ousmane Moussa Tessa - 56

(3) Southern Africa - Seat 5

  • Lucky Masilela - 79
  • None of the above - 97

Result: The seat is vacant

 

The result of the Governance Committee election is as follows:

  • Dr Alioune Badara Traore (50 votes)
  • Result: Dr Alioune Badara Traore is elected for a three-year term
