Our Workshops

AFRINIC is one of Africa's leading technical capacity builders and trains over 600 engineers on INRM and IPv6 Deployment each year. We offer one of the continent's most highly regarded IPv6 Forum (Gold) Certified training programmes and all of our workshops are taught by highly experienced training staff. The following workshops will be delivered in Senegal:

  • Internet Number Resources Management Fundamentals (1 day)
  • Understanding and Deploying IPv6 (3 days)
  • At the end of this four-day workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Effectively manage their Internet Number Resources using the WHOIS database
  • Create an IPv6 Address Plan
  • Configure, troubleshoot and verify IPv6 devices as part of an IPv6 deployment project
  • And much more.

Fees and Requirements

Participation is FREE of charge for selected participants and you do not need to be an AFRINIC member to attend. However, priority is always given to AFRINIC members.

Lunch and light refreshments will be served during workshop. Please note that AFRINIC does not contribute to transportation and/or accommodation costs for the participants.

Workshops are open to network engineers and systems administrators who already understand how to design and build IPv4 networks and can use basic network services like DHCP and DNS.

The application process for the Hackathon @ AIS is now open. The Hackathon@AIS is an event aimed at exposing engineers from the African region to Open Internet Standards development and is co-organized by ISOC and AFRINIC. This will be the second event in the series following a successful event held in Nairobi last year during the Africa Internet Summit.

Network/System engineers, software developers, and or computer science students are encouraged to apply as engagement in open Internet standards development can help further their careers.

The event will be held on the 9th and 10th of May 2018 in Dakar, Senegal. If you are interested in participating AND can commit to being available over the 2 days, please fill the application form. Space is limited and successful applicants will be notified and then be enrolled in various online training sessions in the build up of the event. 

Fellowships will be awarded to strong applicants where possible.
