Is an AFRINIC Training Workshop Coming Your Way 2017?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

AFRINIC has selected 22 countries to host training workshops in 2017. For the first time ever, we'll be delivering courses in Guinea Conakry and Mozambique and will be returning to Burundi for the first time since 2009.

About AFRINIC's Training Programme

AFRINIC is one of Africa's leading technical capacity builders, training over 630 engineers in 18 African nations in 2016 alone. AFRINIC offers courses on Internet Number Resource Management (INRM) and IPv6 Deployment - one of the continent's most highly regarded IPv6 Forum (Gold) Certified courses. Courses are currently free of charge and are delivered in either French or English. Tailor-made courses are also offered to address the specific needs of governments, research and education networks and large service providers. Since 2004, AFRINIC has trained over 3,000 network engineers in 44 nations in its service region.

More information about AFRINIC Training courses can be found here.

How to Participate in the 2017 Workshops

We'll shortly be announcing the 2017 Training Schedule along with detailed course deliverables and requirements for each one. The courses are open to all but priority is given to AFRINIC Members and the local host's staff, all of whom must meet the selection criteria.

  • AFRINIC’s IPv6 Training Workshops build competence in planning and deploying IPv6 networks for both engineers and managers.

  • AFRINIC's Internet Number Resource Management (INRM) courses build competence on how to plan and manage Internet Number Resources.

About Local Hosts

We rely on local hosts to help us bring our training courses to engineers throughout Africa. Our training hosts benefit from an increased exposure locally and regionally and can take advantage of up to 10 places reserved for their own staff or invited guests. Hosting also means that organisations don't have to send their staff to a different location, saving on travel and accommodation costs. Through global recognition on the AFRINIC website, hosts are also recognised as a technical capacity building leader/facilitator in their country as well as for providing support to Internet technology development throughout Africa.

Applications to host for 2017 have been closed but please consider hosting in 2018. To further our reach and impact capacity building throughout the AFRINIC service region, we are particularly looking for 2018 hosts in:

  • Madagascar
  • Seychelles
  • Namibia
  • Comoros
  • Liberia
  • Equatorial Guinea
