This digital divide is not only an issue of fairness, but it also limits the potential for innovation and economic growth across the region. At AFRINIC, we recognize the importance of addressing this issue and have taken action by implementing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 9.


The AFRINIC Diversity Program aims to bridge the digital divide and leverage the potential of every individual to access, use, and develop internet technologies. Over the past decade, the Internet has transformed education, healthcare, and public services, bringing the benefits of digital connectivity to millions of people across the continent.


However, as the Internet continues to evolve, it is essential to ensure its long-term sustainability, stability, and security. That's why AFRINIC's Internet Governance and ICT development program is so crucial.
