Shaping Africa’s digital future, together.
The Forum brings together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, civil society, the technical community and other stakeholders to discuss the priorities shaping Africa’s digital future.
As the Regional Internet Registry for Africa and the Indian Ocean region, AFRINIC manages and distributes the Internet number resources (IPv4, IPv6 and Autonomous System Numbers) that let networks across the continent connect. Our vision: a secure and accessible Internet for sustainable digital growth in Africa.
Inclusion and meaningful connectivity
Every new network, school, hospital or business that comes online needs Internet number resources. We help operators get them, and we support the move to IPv6 so Africa’s Internet can keep growing.
Cybersecurity and digital trust
Through services like RPKI, we help network operators secure their routing and make the Internet more resilient.
Multistakeholder governance
The policies that guide how Africa’s number resources are distributed are written by the community itself, through our open, bottom-up Policy Development Process. Anyone can take part.
Capacity building
We provide training and support so that African engineers can build and run strong, secure networks.
The technical foundations of Africa’s digital transformation.
Throughout the Forum, the AFRINIC team will take part in discussions and stakeholder engagements across three areas.
Internet Governance and Policy Development
Raising awareness of the role of Internet number resources and of an open, transparent, community-driven Policy Development Process.

Internet governance is most effective when diverse stakeholders have the opportunity to participate in decisions affecting the Internet’s development. AFRINIC will engage with policymakers, civil society, the technical community and other stakeholders to raise awareness of the role of Internet number resources and the importance of an open, transparent and community-driven Policy Development Process (PDP).
Strengthening Africa’s Internet Infrastructure
IPv6 adoption, routing security and interconnection, including engagements alongside Smart Africa on Africa’s peering ecosystem.

Reliable and affordable connectivity depends on strong Internet infrastructure, efficient interconnection and the availability of Internet number resources. AFRINIC will contribute to discussions on IPv6 adoption, routing security and Internet interconnection, including engagements alongside Smart Africa on the role of Internet number resources in strengthening Africa’s peering ecosystem.
Building Capacity for a Secure and Resilient Internet
Training opportunities and initiatives supporting IPv6 deployment, RPKI, routing security and sustainable Internet growth.

Through its Internet development programmes, AFRINIC supports the technical community in developing the knowledge and skills required to deploy, manage and secure Internet infrastructure. At AfIGF 2026, the team will share information about training opportunities and initiatives supporting IPv6 deployment, Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI), routing security and sustainable Internet growth.
