Badru Ntege elected Chairman of the AFRINIC Board

Badru Ntege has been elected the new Chair of AFRINIC. He takes over from Ndeye Maimouna Diop Diagne from Senegal who has been the Board Chair since August 2011.
Mr Ntege, from Uganda, was elected to the Board at the AFRINIC 16 meeting in Serekunda, The Gambia, in May 2012, to represent the Eastern Africa Region. This is the second time Mr Ntege is joining the Board having first served between 2006 and 2009.
The elections for the Chair and Vice-Chair were held on 8 August 2012.
Mr Ntege, who is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NFT Consult Ltd, has many years experience working in the ICT sector. He is an active contributor to a number of ICT related public and private organisations in the East African Region. He is also the Chair of the Uganda Business Process Outsourcing Association. Between 2008 and 2012, Mr Ntege served as a working group member on the Presidential Investment Roundtable in Uganda.
At the same time Lala Andrianamampianina from Madagascar, representing the Indian Ocean Region, has been elected the Vice-Chair of the AFRINIC Board. He has served on the Board since July 2011. Mr Andrianamampianina is currently the Vice-Chair of the Board of the Malagasy E-Governance National Realisation Agency.
