Mr Kris Seeburn is currently a lecturer at the University of Technology in Mauritius. He teaches Information Systems Audit and Control, IT and Enterprise Governance, Computer Security, and Information Warfare. He is Programme Director of the MSc in Enterprise Security and Digital Forensics, MSc Information Risk Management, and MSc Business Enterprise Systems. He is also an Information Security Consultant.
He has worked in banking and finance audits and has wide experience in the implementation of BASEL II and various other standards and practices. He actively participates in various International Standards bodies such as ISO/NIST.
He is a member of Advisory Board of The New Security Foundation, and The American College of Forensic Examiners and Institute of Forensics Science. He is founder and serving President of the ISACA, Mauritius Chapter. He is currently the chair of the Academic Program Subcommittee, and member of the Education and Dissemination Committee and the Professional Standards and Career Management Committeeof ISACA. He is the Spokesperson for ISACA/ITGI as an expert in the fields of security, governance, and audit.
He has been a Fellow and past Board Member of the International Professors Project. He has served as Vice President and Director of Governance and Policy International at the Center for the Advancement of the Enterprise Architecture Profession. He is also a member of the Digital Forensics Association (DFA). He serves as Editorial Board member of the Inderscience Journal of IS Audit and also of Elsevier Science Journal.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council-UK, and Senior Member of IEEE. He serves as a member on the IEEE Africa Initiative and Chairs the Mauritius Section. He is the Chair of ISOC, Mauritius Chapter.
He serves as a member of The Berkman Center for Internet and Society under Harvard University. He has previously won the Gold medal in the BCS Mauritius IT Personality of the Year award. He is a Fellow of the Canterbury Christ Church University, UK.
Mr Seeburn holds a Masters in Information Technology another in Network Technology, an MBA and also an LLM in Computer and Communications Law. He has numerous industry certifications in audit, governance, security, fraud, forensics and project management.
