Diagne, Ndeye Maimouna Diop
Mrs Ndeye Maimouna Diop Diagne is the immediate past Chair of the AFRINIC Board of Directors. She is currently the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and ICT in the Republic of Senegal. She has held the position since 2004. She was the Senegalese representative at the G8 DOT Force and UN ICT Task Force.
She worked as a technical advisor on ICT for the Senegalese Government from 2000 to 2004. From 2001 to 2002, she was an ICT advisor in the Ministry in charge of ICT and coordinated the national ICT strategy on moving Senegal on to the Information Society. From 2002 to 2004 she was in charge of working on the telemedicine strategy. She helped to install and administer the national IP Backbone for the first Senegalese telecommunications company SONATEL.
She is the Senegalese representative at the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) at ICANN and at the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of Internet Governance Forum (IGF). She is also the Vice-chair of the Senegalese Chapter of Internet Society (ISOC-SN) and Chair of Senegalese IPv6 Forum.
Mrs Diagne has participated in the activities of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE). She is also a member of the Observatoire sur les Systèmes d'Information, les Réseaux et les Inforoutes au Sénégal (OSIRIS).
Mrs Diagne holds a degree in Data Processing, Computer Science, Engineering and Technology. She has also been trained on Internet Governance.
